| Obverse description | Green and yellow letterpress note with an intricate guilloche border incorporating floral corner vignettes and a central rectangular panel. The panel carries a repeated pale underprint of 'VILLE DE STRASBOURG' in diagonal rows, over which 'RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE' appears at the top and 'VILLE DE STRASBOURG' in bold lettering below. The denomination 'UN FRANC' is set in large letters within a dark cartouche at centre. At bottom centre, the municipal coat of arms of Strasbourg — supported by two lions with a red diagonal band — anchors the design, flanked by manuscript signature lines for the President of the Municipal Commission and the Municipal Receiver. |
