| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black letterpress with red intaglio accents on a cream paper ground. A central oval vignette carries the large denomination numeral '1' and text 'UN FRANC' in bold red lettering, encircled by an elaborate acanthus-leaf and fruit garland. The Monegasque coat of arms — a lozenge-patterned shield surmounted by a princely crown — appears at the foot of the vignette, flanked by two facsimile signatures, while the legislative and sovereign decree dates of March 1920 are inscribed in the upper left and right corners respectively. |
