| Obverse description | The obverse features a left-facing draped bust of Marianne, the allegorical figure of Liberty, wearing a Phrygian cap as a symbol of freedom. The effigy, created by engraver Augustin Dupré in 1795 and inspired by Minerva, goddess of intelligence and wisdom, is rendered in a neoclassical style.
