正面描述	The obverse, engraved by Claude Lesot, presents a dramatic commemorative scene evoking the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944. In the foreground, a helmeted Allied infantryman advances at full stride, rifle in hand, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. Behind him, additional soldiers wade ashore amid beach obstacles, including a prominent anti-tank Czech hedgehog in the lower right. The upper field is populated with silhouettes of transport aircraft and descending paratroopers, while warships of the invasion fleet are visible on the horizon to the right. The Cross of Lorraine appears at the right, and a military shield emblem is shown at the left; the legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE arcs along the upper rim, with the date 6 JUIN 1944 and the five beach names UTAH · OMAHA · GOLD · JUNO · SWORD inscribed along the lower periphery, and the engraver's signature C. LESOT in the lower left field.
