Reverse description Central composition featuring the quartered Belgian royal coat of arms — charged with the rampant lion of Belgium — surmounted by a large royal crown with elaborate detailing. The shield is flanked on either side by decorative mantling and supported by two lions rampant in the traditional heraldic manner, with a festooned ribbon at the base. The denomination numeral '1' appears to the left of the shield and the abbreviation 'F' to the right. The motto L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE arcs along the upper legend, and the date appears in the exergual area below, divided by a small ornamental device. A beaded border frames the design.
