目录
| 正面描述 | Two palm trees of varying heights rising from a coastal landscape with low hills or dunes in the background, depicted in the center of the field. The legend SÉNÉGAL curves along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the date 1921 appears in the lower portion of the field, also within the beaded inner circle. The overall design evokes the tropical character of French West Africa. |

Ziguinchor, isolated in the Casamance region of French Senegal and physically separated from the rest of the colony by the Gambia, had chronic difficulties receiving adequate coinage from Dakar. The Chambre de Commerce issued these aluminium emergency tokens in 1921 to fill the gap — a locally authorized stopgap during persistent small-denomination shortages that plagued French West African trade in the years immediately following the First World War.
