| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse carries the issuing authority's title «CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE TARBES» at the head of the note, above the central denomination statement «1 FRANC», with the deliberation date of 7 February 1915 and a repayment deadline of 7 February 1920 inscribed in full. A six-digit serial number is printed in black, with no series letter or watermark present. Two manuscript signatures appear in the lower margin, attributed to the Treasurer and the President respectively. |

The validity dates «1915 × 1920» appear in a cartouche at upper left, with the denomination «1fr» set within a circular frame at upper right. A legend along the lower margin specifies that the note must be presented for reimbursement at the Tarbes branch of the Banque de France before 7 February 1920, and the printer's imprint «L. The Chambre de Commerce de Tarbes was one of dozens of French regional chambers that stepped in to issue emergency small-denomination notes after the outbreak of war in 1914 drained metal coinage from circulation almost overnight. The central government effectively encouraged this patchwork solution rather than coordinating a national one, which is why the surviving corpus of French chambre de commerce notes is so varied in quality, design, and longevity.
L. Cassan Ainé was a Toulouse commercial printer, not a security specialist — a fact worth keeping in mind when assessing the consistency of impression across the multiple JP reference variants listed in this series.
