| Obverse description | Green letterpress note framed by an elaborate guilloche border with four corner medallions bearing the arms of Saintes, Saint-Jean-d'Angély, Jonzac, and Marennes, flanked by palm frond vignettes; the issuer's name arcs along the top within a decorative ribbon, centred above the municipal coat of arms of Rochefort-sur-Mer. The large denomination numeral and text '1 FRANC' dominate the centre field, beneath which a circular red cachet of the Chambre de Commerce is applied. Signature lines for the Trésorier and the Président appear below the cachet, with the serial number printed at the foot. |
