The large denomination numeral "1" and the text "UN FRANC" occupy the upper-left field, with the issuer's name in a ruled header band at the top. The lower border carries the validity dates 1920–1922 alongside the authorising deliberation and ministerial decision references, with two facsimile signatures for the President and the Treasurer. |

At the top centre, the arms of the city of Nice are displayed flanked by a Maltese cross emblem, set within a decorative floral header. The large central inscription "UN FRANC" dominates the field above a cartouche containing the redemption clause, with the series number and serial number printed in bold below the denomination; printer and designer credits appear in small text at the lower margins. |
