Obverse description Brown and ochre letterpress note within an ornate oval frame, with elaborate guilloche scrollwork and large interlaced 'RF' monograms at each corner. At the top centre, a circular vignette bears the arms of Nantes — a sailing ship at sea — flanked by two herons amid foliate sprays, encircled by the Latin motto 'OCULI OMNIUM IN TE SPERANT DOMINE'. The denomination 'BON DE UN FRANC' is set in bold letterpress across the centre, above a large '1 Fr' underprint watermark, with two manuscript signature lines below for the Chef de la Comptabilité and the Président, and the serial number in a ruled cartouche at the foot.

Reverse description Printed in dark carmine-red on plain paper, the reverse is entirely occupied by a central oval panel containing the full redemption text in elegant cursive script, surrounded by a beaded border. The outer rectangular frame repeats the guilloche corner ornaments with large 'R' monograms, consistent with the obverse design. No pictorial vignette is present; the composition relies entirely on the calligraphic text block and decorative borders.
