Within the central oval cartouche, the heading 'DÉPARTEMENT DES LANDES' surmounts a grouped vignette of three heraldic shields — respectively bearing fleurs-de-lis with the legend 'CAPUT VASCONIAE', crossed keys, and a rampant lion with the legend 'ACOS' — each surmounted by a mural crown and underscored by a crossed oak-and-olive branch wreath; a red-orange '1F' overprint appears across the centre of the cartouche, with the redemption deadline clause in letterpress below.
