Opmerkingen

Marseille's Chamber of Commerce began issuing its own small-denomination emergency notes in 1914 as the wartime coin shortage stripped France of its circulating bronze and silver. By 1917, when this note was produced, the Moullot printing house — a long-established Marseille commercial firm — was turning out successive series for the Chamber as demand continued to outpace redemption. H. Rouit's design credit appears consistently across the Marseille Chamber issues of this period.

JP#79.64 places this within a densely catalogued series; collectors should note that Moullot-printed Marseille nécessité notes vary considerably in rarity across dates and series letters, and this particular reference number does not represent one of the scarcer variants.
