| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in brown and ochre tones within an ornate foliate and basketweave border. A central oval cartouche bearing the numeral "1" and the legend "UN FRANC" is flanked by laurel and oak branch vignettes in the upper portion, with two handwritten facsimile signatures below — those of the Secrétaire-Trésorier at left and the Président at right. The lower half carries a detailed engraved vignette of the port of Dieppe, with tall-masted sailing vessels moored along the quay and a steamship in the background; the town arms of Dieppe appear in a scrollwork cartouche at lower right, with the printer's imprint "Imp. Richard, Paris" at the foot. |
