| Obverse description | Brown and ochre note enclosed within an ornate foliate border, centred on a detailed port vignette of Dieppe with tall-masted sailing vessels moored in the foreground and a steam vessel visible beyond; the denomination numeral "1" occupies an oval cartouche flanked by laurel and oak branches with "UN FRANC" inscribed below.
