A circular vignette at the top centre bears the arms of Châteauroux, flanked by the issue date to the left and the serial number to the right, while the denomination BON DE UN FRANC is set in large bold type across the centre field. Two facsimile manuscript signatures appear below, above their respective titles Le Trésorier and Le Président, with the approval cartouche EMISSION APPROUVÉE PAR L'ADMINISTRATION SUPÉRIEURE at the foot alongside the printer's imprint IMP.
