| Obverse description | Printed in blue and pink on white paper, the obverse carries the full title of the issuing chamber in bold letterpress across the centre, flanked by two heraldic vignettes — the arms of Chalon-sur-Saône to the left and those of Autun or Louhans to the right — each supported by laurel branches. The large denomination "UN FRANC" is set in bold type against a pink textual underprint repeating the chamber's name, with a small intaglio vignette of a classical public building centred at the bottom between the manuscript signatures of the Trésorier and the Président. A decorative guilloche border with rosette corner medallions and the letter "H" in circular cartouches frames the entire note, while the series and serial number appear at the foot. |
