The chambers of commerce emergency note issues of 1914–1926 filled a vacuum left by the hoarding of coin that gripped France almost immediately after mobilization. Eure-et-Loir's chamber was among the smaller regional issuers, operating out of Chartres, and uniquely had its notes printed locally by Trochard rather than relying on one of the Parisian specialist houses. That local production arrangement is reflected in the comparatively modest security provision — a watermark, but none of the more elaborate anti-counterfeiting measures found on notes printed by Chaix or Oberthur for larger chambers.
JP#45.10 distinguishes this within the series, which ran across multiple denominations and date variants through the early 1920s.
