| Obverse description | Laureate bust of King Albert I facing left, wearing a laurel wreath tied at the nape with a ribbon, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style by sculptor Jules Lagae. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, with the truncation falling at the lower rim. The legend ALBERT ROI DES BELGES arcs around the periphery from lower left to upper right, with the engraver's signature JUL. LAGAE incused along the lower rim beneath the bust. A fine beaded border frames the entire design. |

| Reverse description | A tall, naturalistically rendered oil palm tree dominates the central field, its fronds sweeping outward symmetrically to left and right. The denomination numeral 1 and the letter F (for Franc) flank the trunk in large raised characters at mid-field, with the date 1930 divided by the base of the trunk in the lower central area. The legend CONGO BELGE curves along the lower portion of the field in large serif capitals. A continuous beaded border encircles the design. |
