The Trésor Colonial was France's instrument for managing currency in its overseas territories before dedicated colonial banks absorbed that function. This 1 Franc from 1884 predates the establishment of territory-specific issuing authorities across much of French Africa and the Pacific, placing it among the earliest standardized colonial fractional notes of the Third Republic period.
Pick 2 is scarce. Notes of this vintage and denomination circulated hard in low-value daily transactions and few survived intact.
