| Obverse description | Printed in blue on cream paper, the obverse carries the authority title RÉGION ÉCONOMIQUE D'ALGÉRIE in a ruled panel at top, with the date of deliberation (31 Janvier 1944) below. A central cartouche in Moorish-arch style bears the denomination UN FRANC in large letterpress type, with the Arabic equivalent فرنك beneath. The surrounding vignette comprises a pastoral Algerian landscape with palm trees, grapevines, citrus fruit, and a Caduceus emblem above, flanked by three facsimile signatures of the Vice-Président Délégué, Trésorier Adjoint, and Trésorier. The serial number and series letter appear in a ruled panel at foot, with the printer's imprint and designer's name CH. HERVÉ in the lower margin. |
