Opmerkingen

The Territoire du Cameroun series to which this note belongs was issued under the French League of Nations mandate, established after Germany lost its colonial holdings at Versailles. France administered its portion of the former Kamerun through a civilian mandate authority rather than directly as a colonial possession — a legal distinction that had real administrative consequences, including the need for a distinct local currency apparatus rather than simple extension of French West African issues.

L. Leclerc handled both engraving and printing, an unusual consolidation of responsibilities. Pick 5 is among the scarcer low-denomination issues from this mandate period.
