| Obverse description | Printed in red and black on white paper, the obverse carries the bold central title 'UN FRANC' in a black cartouche, with the Arabic equivalent 'فرنك واحد' above. The series and serial number are printed in black at left and right respectively, with the decree date 'Décret du 5 Avril 1918 / 16 Redjeb 1336' in the centre. Two manuscript signatures appear below the titles of 'Le Trésorier Général de Tunisie' and 'Le Directeur Général des Finances', with bilingual (French and Arabic) text panels at the foot noting exchangeability against Banque de l'Algérie notes and the counterfeiting penalty, all within a decorative guilloche border. |
