Obverse description	The note is printed in blue and black on a pale olive-green ground, framed by a decorative guilloche border of repeating foliate motifs. At left and right, circular vignettes reproduce the obverse and reverse of the French 1 Franc coin — the left coin bearing the legend LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ around a wreath with the denomination, and the right showing the Semeuse figure of the République Française. The denomination UN FRANC is printed in large bold letterpress type at centre, with the colony's name COLONIE DE LA GUINÉE FRANÇAISE above, beneath the overarching authority line GOUVERNEMENT GÉNÉRAL DE L'AFRIQUE OCCIDENTALE FRANÇAISE; two manuscript signatures appear at lower left and lower right under the printed titles Le Trésorier-Payeur and Le Lt-Gouverneur respectively.

Reverse lettering	EXTRAIT DU DÉCRET DU 11 FÉVRIER 1917 autorisant l'émission de Bons de caisse en Afrique occidentale française Les bons de caisse émis auront cours forcé soit dans toute l'étendue de la Colonie, soit dans certaines localités désignées par le Lieutenant-Gouverneur de la Colonie intéressée et ne pourront, en aucun cas, circuler hors de cette Colonie ou de ces localités; ils seront remboursés en espèces dans un délai de deux ans, lequel commencera à courir à partir de la cessation des hostilités. Ceux qui auront contrefait ou falsifié les bons de caisse dont le Gouvernement général peut autoriser l'émission en exécution du présent décret et ceux qui auront fait usage de ces bons contrefaits ou falsifiés seront poursuivis conformément aux lois et punis des travaux forcés à perpétuité ou de l'emprisonnement perpétuel, suivant le statut personnel des délinquants. 1f Ce bon de caisse a cours forcé dans toute la Colonie.
