| Obverse description | Black letterpress on white paper within an ornate Art Nouveau border of scrolling foliage and floral motifs, with the denomination numeral '1' at upper right and lower right corners. The series number and serial appear in a ruled panel at top, below which the title 'BON RÉGIONAL' and issuing authority text are set in decreasing type sizes, followed by the large denomination 'UN FRANC' in bold display type. The date 'Fourmies, le 8 Mai 1916' and two manuscript signatures of the Control Committee delegates appear in the lower half, with a red oval control cachet applied at left, and a validity notice in a rectangular panel at foot. |
