| Reverse description | Central cross potent, its terminals adorned with pellets at each extremity, occupying the full field of the reverse in the manner of Byzantine votive coinage. The four angles formed by the arms of the cross contain the abbreviated Greek Christogram legend IC XC / NIKA, invoking the victory of Jesus Christ. The design follows the standard Italo-Norman devotional reverse type derived directly from Byzantine numismatic tradition. |
