Obverse description A large fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, rendered in the Florentine style with broad, stylized petals and a pronounced central stem tied at the base. Small decorative elements, including what appear to be episcopal shields or marks, are visible among the lily's petals. A continuous Latin legend in Gothic characters encircles the device along the beaded border. The design closely follows the prototype of the Florentine florin, adapted for the Bishopric of Bamberg.
