Reverse description The Commonwealth of Australia's coat of arms occupies the central field, surmounted by the St Edward's Crown. The quartered shield displays the badges of the six states, supported by a kangaroo to the left and an emu to the right, both standing on a ground of native wattle branches. The denomination FLORIN appears in the upper legend flanking a small cross, with the mint engraver's initials K·G to the right of the shield, the date below the shield, and AUSTRALIA arching along the lower rim. A beaded border frames the entire design.
