Reverse description The enthroned Madonna and Child depicted facing, the Virgin crowned and seated on an ornate throne, holding the infant Christ who bears an orb, both figures flanked by stylized flame-like drapery. Beneath the central motif, the Hungarian arms — a quartered shield combining the Árpád stripes and the patriarchal double cross — are displayed prominently. The date 1629 appears divided in the upper field to either side of the Madonna's crown. The surrounding Latin legend, separated by stops, reads PAR R HVN DOSICO OP R AT DVX, recording Bethlen's titles as Lord of Parts of the Kingdom of Hungary, Count of Oppeln, and Duke of Ratibor.
