| Reverse description | The enthroned Madonna and Child depicted facing, the Virgin crowned and seated on an ornate throne, holding the infant Christ who bears an orb, both figures flanked by stylized flame-like drapery. Beneath the central motif, the Hungarian arms — a quartered shield combining the Árpád stripes and the patriarchal double cross — are displayed prominently. The date 1629 appears divided in the upper field to either side of the Madonna's crown. The surrounding Latin legend, separated by stops, reads PAR R HVN DOSICO OP R AT DVX, recording Bethlen's titles as Lord of Parts of the Kingdom of Hungary, Count of Oppeln, and Duke of Ratibor. |
