| Beschrijving keerzijde | Quartered heraldic shield surmounted by a princely crown, displaying the arms of Bourbon (fleurs-de-lis) and Lorraine (alternate quarters featuring bars and eagles) in a bold hammered style. The shield is set within a beaded inner border, with the Latin legend encircling the periphery. The overall composition reflects the dynastic alliance of the two noble houses. Legend stops punctuate the inscription at regular intervals. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Château-Regnault was a tiny sovereign principality on the Meuse in the Ardennes, and its coinage rights were fiercely guarded precisely because the territory itself was so small. This florin was struck under Francis of Bourbon-Conti and his wife Louise Marguerite of Lorraine, whose combined dynastic connections gave the principality a prestige wildly out of proportion to its actual territory. French royal authorities repeatedly challenged the minting privileges of such minor lordships in this period, and Château-Regnault's gold issues were among the last produced before the principality's monetary independence was effectively curtailed.
