| Obverse description | Central field features a rampant lion facing left, representing the heraldic arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, rendered in low relief in a crude hammered style characteristic of Kipper-period emergency coinage. The lion is depicted in full body with raised forepaws and tail curled upward. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself surrounded by a further beaded border near the coin's rim. The overall strike is irregular, consistent with the debased emergency coinage of the Kipper und Wipper inflation period of 1621. |
