| Obverse description | A large stylized fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, rendered in the characteristic Florentine Gothic style with three prominent petals rising from a crosshatched base and flanked by scrolling lateral lobes. The fleur-de-lis, the civic emblem of Florence, is depicted with fine detail including stippled and hatched surface ornamentation on the petals. A circular legend surrounds the central device, reading FLORENTIA, the Latin name of the city, broken into two segments separated by decorative stops.
