| Opis awersu | Central field depicts the Visconti biscione (a large serpent devouring a human figure), coiled around a crowned helmet surmounted by a crested dragon, all rendered in high relief in the medieval hammered style. Two serpents flank the central device, their bodies curving outward toward the beaded inner border. A heraldic shield bearing the Visconti arms appears at the base of the composition. The circumferential legend, in Gothic uncial characters, runs between the inner beaded and outer plain borders, referencing Bernabò Visconti as lord. |
