The tughra incorporates the sultan's name and titles in highly stylized Arabic script. The design is enclosed within a plain inner circle surrounded by a beaded border of uniform granules running the full circumference of the coin. The hammered flan displays a slightly irregular surface typical of late 18th to early 19th century Ottoman gold coinage. |
