| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed in the Baroque fashion with tight curls and ornamentation, wearing a lace-trimmed décolleté bodice. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine engraving characteristic of the Milan Mint. The encircling Latin legend reads MARIA·THERESIA·D·G·REG·HUN·BOH·ARCH·AUST, identifying her as Queen of Hungary and Bohemia and Archduchess of Austria, running between an inner circle and a toothed border. |

| Reverse description | Central crowned composite coat of arms displaying the quartered arms of the Habsburg-Lorraine dynasty, incorporating the arms of Hungary, Bohemia, Austria, and Burgundy among others, surmounted by an imperial crown. The escutcheon is flanked on the left by an olive branch and on the right by a palm branch, with a cross of Jerusalem to the left and a rampant lion to the right acting as supporters. The date 1749 appears in the exergue, and the circumferential Latin legend MEDIOLANI DUX·ET·C· identifies Maria Theresa as Duchess of Milan, running between a toothed border. |
