Reverse description A plain cross displayed within a flat-topped, straight-sided heraldic shield occupying the central field, with the date divided and appearing above and beside the shield. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself surrounded by a continuous Latin uncial legend identifying the coin as a new money of Reval. The date numerals are rendered in the characteristic late-medieval convention with 'Z' used in place of '2'. The hammered flan gives the reverse an irregular outline consistent with hand-struck coinage of the period.
