| Obverse description | The obverse presents a purely epigraphic design composed entirely of Chinese characters arranged in two concentric registers separated by a dotted inner circle. The outer legend, reading clockwise from the top, bears the inscription denoting the Republic of China year and province of issue. Within the inner dotted circle, the large central characters read 壹 銅幣 仙 (One Cent Copper Coin) in bold relief, prominently occupying the field. The legend 廣東省造 (Made in Kwangtung Province) appears in the lower outer register. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed or beaded border running along the coin's rim, typical of the milled coinage of early Republican China. |
