Reverse description The allegorical figure of Britannia is depicted seated left in the central field, holding a long trident in her left hand and extending an olive branch in her raised right hand. A shield bearing the Union flag rests against her left side. The peripheral legend BRITANNIA arcs around the upper field, with the date of issue placed in the exergue below the seated figure. The composition reflects the standard Britannia reverse type introduced for English copper coinage in the Restoration period.
