| Obverse description | Left-facing laureate and draped bust of Queen Victoria, her hair elaborately arranged in waves and drawn back with a laurel sprig, secured with a ribbon at the nape. The truncation is visible at the base of the bust, and the portrait is engraved in high relief after Leonard Charles Wyon's second portrait design. The circular legend VICTORIA D:G: BRITT:REG:F:D: runs along the periphery, separated from the bust by a plain inner field. The entire design is enclosed within a continuous beaded border. |
