Description de l’avers	Left-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Victoria, engraved in the young head portrait style by Leonard Charles Wyon, set within a beaded inner circle. The legend VICTORIA QUEEN arcs along the upper periphery, flanked at the lower sides by two small rosette ornaments. The date appears in the lower exergual area below the bust, separated from the legend by the beaded circle. The design is contained within a toothed outer border, and the overall composition reflects the refined classicism characteristic of Victorian colonial coinage.

Description du revers	The Jamaican coat of arms, depicting a quartered shield surmounted by a crocodile passant upon a helm and mantling, supported by two figures and bearing the motto scroll below, is centrally placed within a beaded inner circle. The legend JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery and FARTHING along the lower, each flanked by rosette stops. The motto INDUS UTERQUE SERVIET UNI appears on a scroll at the base of the shield. The entire design is framed by a toothed outer border consistent with the obverse treatment.
