The field is plain with no privy mark present. The inscription reads IACO: D: G: MAG: BRIT:, identifying James I as King of Great Britain by the Grace of God. The design is rendered in low relief consistent with the roller-milled production technique of the Lennox patent farthings. |

HIB: REX., completing the full royal titulature: King of France and Ireland. The harp design is characteristic of the copper Lennox patent farthings authorized under James I. |
