| Opis rewersu | Two British men-of-war depicted broadside in a dynamic naval engagement scene, rendered in fine detail with rigging, gun-ports, and billowing sails clearly delineated; a third vessel is partially visible to the right bearing a distinctive flag. The scene commemorates the Battle of the Glorious First of June, 1794, the first major fleet engagement of the French Revolutionary Wars. The legend GLORIOUS 1ST OF IUNE, 1794 curves around the upper periphery, while FARTHING appears in the lower exergue beneath a horizontal line dividing the inscription from the ship composition. The milled edge border frames the design throughout. |
