Obverse description Right-facing laureate and draped bust of King George III, rendered in the neoclassical style by engraver Conrad Heinrich Küchler. The effigy is boldly modelled with fine detail in the laurel wreath and drapery folds at the truncation. The circumferential legend reads GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX, with the date 1799 positioned in the lower exergual area beneath the bust. The field is smooth and the lettering is in a clean Roman serif typeface characteristic of the Soho Mint's refined production standards.
