| Reverse description | The shield of the Jamaican coat of arms occupies the centre of the field, its quarterings filled with horizontal shading, and bearing a cross with five pineapples — one at the centre and one in each quarter — as per the colonial heraldic design. The shield is encircled by a beaded inner border, with the legend JAMAICA flanking the upper portion and FARTHING arcing beneath, separated by asterisks. The motto INDUS UTERQUE SERVIET UNI, meaning 'Both Indies shall serve one,' runs around the lower periphery outside the beaded circle, all within a toothed outer border. |
