Reverse description A long voided cross divides the reverse into four quadrants, each containing three pellets arranged in a triangular pattern, characteristic of Edward III's first coinage farthings. The crossbar extends to the coin's edge in the standard hammered fashion. The legend CIVI TAS LON DON, identifying the City of London mint, is distributed across the four quadrants of the field in uncial Latin lettering.
