| Obverse description | Facing crowned bust of King Edward I rendered in a small, rounded style characteristic of Class 8 farthings, with a tall, crudely executed crown. The effigy is depicted with schematic facial features typical of late 13th-century hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend in uncial lettering surrounds the portrait within a beaded border. The overall style is bold but somewhat rough in execution, consistent with the diminutive flan size of the denomination. |
