Obverse description Facing crowned effigy of King Edward I within an inner beaded circle, rendered in the flat, stylised manner characteristic of late 13th-century English hammered coinage. The crown is trifoliate with no intermediate jewels between the main fleurs, a diagnostic feature of the Class 1c issue. The king's features are shown frontally with a schematic drapery at the shoulders. A beaded outer border frames the design, with the Latin regal legend disposed around the circumference between the inner circle and the coin's edge.
Obverse script Latin (uncial)
Obverse lettering + ЄDWARDVS RЄX
(Translation: King Edward)
