| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse presents a crowned oval shield bearing the Royal Arms of Great Britain, composed of the quartered arms of England, Scotland, and France, rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered copper coinage. The crown surmounting the shield is of the imperial form typical of early Stuart regal issues. A Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded border, with the royal name and titulature abbreviated in the customary manner of the period. The strike is irregular and the flan slightly uneven, consistent with the hand-hammered production methods of the Richmond Mint. Significant green patination is present across the surface of the coin. |
