| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse depicts a crowned royal cipher or device at centre, rendered in low relief on a roughly circular copper flan characteristic of early Stuart copper coinage. The central motif appears as a crowned figure or emblematic device typical of Charles I transitional farthing types. The peripheral Latin legend reads CARO. D. G. MAG. BRI., an abbreviation of Carolus Dei Gratia Magnae Britanniae, running clockwise around the field. The strike is typical of the Richmond issue, exhibiting irregular planchet preparation and variable relief.
