| 正面描述 | A large royal crown occupies the central field, rendered in relief with a beaded band along its base and three prominent fleurs-de-lys rising from the upper rim. The crown is depicted in a stylized, somewhat primitive manner consistent with colonial hammered coinage of the period. The field surrounding the crown is plain and unlettered. A beaded border encircles the design at the periphery. |

The Compagnie des Indes struck fanons at Pondicherry for local trade use, and the globule varieties within this series reflect successive die adjustments made on-site rather than directives from Paris — a practical response to the demands of Indian commerce, where weight and local visual conventions carried more transactional weight than French royal authority. The nine-globule variety is among the more elusive of the documented die types, distinguished in the Lecompte classification but still imperfectly understood in terms of relative mintage.
The Compagnie lost its trade monopoly in 1769, and much of its colonial coinage was subsequently melted or displaced by later issues.
